The Circuit Breaker 3A is the genuine Tacony OEM resettable overload protector for the Tornado CK 3030 wide-area vacuum (Model 93030). Tacony used two part numbers across the production run, so this listing carries both and you select by series: 31236 for Series E and F, and 32935 for Series G.
The breaker is a thermal device wired into the control circuit. Under normal load it does nothing; when current rises past three amps and stays there, an internal element heats, snaps and opens the circuit, cutting power before the winding insulation or the harness is damaged. On a wide-area brush vacuum the usual cause is mechanical rather than electrical — a cord, a strap or a length of carpet fringe wound into the brush roll, loading the motor until it stalls. The breaker is the part that keeps that from becoming a burnt-out motor.
Because it is resettable, a tripped breaker is not by itself a reason to buy a new one. Unplug the machine, clear whatever is binding the brush, let the breaker cool, press the button back in and run it again. Replace the breaker only when it will no longer hold a normal load, will not latch, or has visible heat damage — and treat a breaker that trips with nothing jammed as a signal to check the motor draw before assuming the breaker is at fault.

Many Tacony fasteners and components are shared more widely across the Tornado, CleanMax, Riccar, Simplicity and Powr-Flite ranges; if your machine is not listed, call us at 763-535-0770 and we will confirm before you order.
Twin City Vacuum has been selling and servicing Tacony equipment since 1956 and supplies the genuine Tacony breaker for this machine rather than a generic equivalent of the same nominal rating — trip curve and mounting both matter here. Note on the Series E/F breaker (31236): Tacony does not currently list 31236 in the online dealer catalogue, so no price is shown for that option. Call us at 763-535-0770 and we will source it and quote you.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Circuit Breaker 3A do on the Tornado 93030?
It is the machine’s resettable overload protection. The 3-amp breaker sits in the control circuit and trips when current climbs past its rating — typically because the brush roll has jammed on a cord or a carpet tassel, or a motor is drawing hard as it fails. Tripping protects the motor and wiring from a sustained overload. Once the cause is cleared the breaker is reset by hand rather than replaced.
Which part number do I need, 31236 or 32935?
Choose by series using the selector above. Series E and F use 31236. Series G uses 32935. The series letter is printed on the machine’s data label.
How do I know if my Circuit Breaker 3A needs replacing?
A healthy breaker holds once the fault is cleared. Replace it if it trips again immediately with the brush free and nothing binding, if the button will not stay in or has gone soft and spongy, if it never trips even when the brush is visibly jammed, or if the housing is cracked, scorched or smells burnt. A breaker that nuisance-trips on a machine that is otherwise running normally has usually weakened internally.
