Battery Box Cover X1383

The Battery Box Cover (part# X1383) is a genuine Tacony OEM replacement part fitted to 36-volt cordless backpack vacuums across the Tornado and CleanMax ranges. It is the moulded cover that closes over the battery bay on the back of the machine, holding the pack in its housing and keeping dust and debris out of the terminal area.

Compatible Models for the Battery Box Cover

• Tornado Pac-Vac 6 Roam — Models 93016, 93016B-1 and 93016C-1
• CleanMax CMBP-6CL cordless backpack vacuum

When to replace it: the cover is cracked or split, a mounting tab has broken so it no longer clips down square, the cover rattles loose in use, or it is missing altogether and the battery bay is open to dust. On a cordless machine the cover is what keeps grit away from the battery contacts, and grit on the contacts is a far more expensive problem than the cover.

It is a quick change — the cover comes away from the battery bay and the new one seats in the same place with the same screws, with no wiring work involved. If the old cover broke because the pack was being forced in at an angle, check the terminal wall and the battery seat at the same time.

Twin City Vacuum has been selling and servicing Tornado equipment since 1956. The full parts breakdown for this machine is on our Tornado Pac-Vac 6 Roam parts page, and the manufacturer’s model information is at tornadovac.com.
