The Battery Terminal Wall (part# X1384) is a genuine Tacony OEM replacement part used on 36-volt cordless backpack vacuums in the Tornado and CleanMax ranges. It is the moulded wall at the back of the battery bay that carries the terminal block, the switch bracket and the spring-loaded plunger, and it sets the alignment the battery pack seats against.
Compatible Models for the Battery Terminal Wall
- Tornado Pac-Vac 6 Roam — Models 93016, 93016B-1 and 93016C-1
- CleanMax CMBP-6CL cordless backpack vacuum
When to replace it: the wall is cracked around the terminal block or its mounting bosses, the battery no longer seats squarely or rocks when clipped in, the screw bosses are stripped so the terminal block will not clamp down, or the wall has been distorted by a pack being forced in at an angle. Any of these lets the pack move against its contacts, which is what burns terminals.
The wall comes out as a sub-assembly: the terminal block, the momentary switch and its bracket, and the plunger and spring all transfer across to the new one. It is worth inspecting the terminal block contacts while the assembly is apart — if the wall cracked because of repeated hard seating, the contacts have usually taken some heat too. If you would rather not strip it down, the complete assembly with the switch already fitted is available as X2527.
Twin City Vacuum has been selling and servicing Tornado equipment since 1956. The full parts breakdown for this machine is on our Tornado Pac-Vac 6 Roam parts page, and the manufacturer’s model information is at tornadovac.com.
