The black roller brush (part# K47624890) is the genuine Tacony 19-inch roll in the softer bristle grade. It is the choice for cut-pile, plush and older carpet where a harder bristle would fuzz the face fibre, and it is the roll most 19-inch machines leave the factory with.

This is a genuine Tacony OEM part. It appears on the 19-inch accessories sheet and again on the 19-inch brush head sheet as one of two alternate rolls at the same position.

Fits the two 19-inch machines only. The 15-inch equivalents look almost identical in a photograph and carry different numbers — check the catalog number on the data plate before ordering.

What the roller brush does

The roll agitates soil loose so the airflow can carry it off. The softer bristle flexes against the pile rather than driving through it, which grooms cut-pile cleanly and is kinder to carpet that has already seen some wear.

Signs it needs replacing

Bristles level with or below the bumper ring, splayed rows, or carpet that looks flattened rather than groomed after a pass. Hair wrapped solid at the bearing ends will also stall a roll that still has good bristle.

Installation and fit

Release the glide sole, lift the roll out, cut away wrapped hair at the ends, and fit the new roll with the belt on its pulley. Turn it by hand to confirm it spins freely before closing up.
