The glide sole (part# K50591423) is the genuine Tacony bottom plate for the 19-inch brush head. It is the surface that rides on the carpet, it meters how far the brush roll reaches into the pile, and it comes off by hand on the lock-piece kit so the roll can be cleared of hair and string.

This is a genuine Tacony OEM part. It appears on the 19-inch brush head sheet. The 15-inch machines use K40715600.

What the glide sole does

The sole protects the housing from the floor and sets the brush-to-carpet relationship along the full 19 inches of the roll. Because the span is wider, uneven wear shows up sooner here than on the 15-inch machine — a sole worn more at one end leaves a strip of carpet that never quite grooms.

Signs it needs replacing

Thinning or polished patches along the edges, cracks at the lock-piece slots, a head that drags, or a grooming pattern that is noticeably better at one end of the head than the other.

Installation and fit

No tools. Release the lock pieces, lift the sole away, fit the new one and lock it down. Clear the brush roll while it is open.
