The red bristle roller brush (part# K47624880) is the genuine Tacony 19-inch roll in the harder bristle grade, supplied as a complete assembly. Red is Tacony’s marker for the stiffer bristle: it is the roll for dense commercial loop carpet where you want the agitation to reach down into a tightly packed pile.

This is a genuine Tacony OEM part. It appears on the 19-inch accessories sheet and again on the 19-inch brush head sheet, where it is one of two alternate rolls offered at the same position.

A 19-inch roll fits two machines and no others — the CV 48/2 and the CVD 48/2. Every other upright in this range is 15 inches or narrower, which is why ordering by photograph so often goes wrong here.

What the roller brush does

The roll beats and sweeps soil out of the carpet pile so the airflow can lift it away. The harder bristle flexes less, so more of the energy goes into the carpet rather than being absorbed by the bristle — the right trade on dense loop, too aggressive on soft cut-pile.

Signs it needs replacing

Bristles worn below the bumper ring, splayed or missing rows, or a machine that leaves the pile flat rather than groomed. If pickup has gone off and the belt is sound, look at the roll before anything else.

Installation and fit

Release the glide sole by hand, lift the old roll out, clear hair from the bearing ends, and seat the new roll with the belt over its pulley. Spin it by hand to check it runs free across the full width before the sole goes back on.
