The complete vacuum motor and housing (part# K40715470) is the genuine Tacony suction motor supplied already fitted in its housing. On a dual-motor CVD this is the motor that moves air — the second motor drives the brush roll independently, which is why a machine with a dead suction motor can still sound and feel like it is working.

This is a genuine Tacony OEM part. It appears on the front part assembly sheet, which is shared by the 15-inch and 19-inch machines, so one motor serves both.

What the vacuum motor and housing does

The motor spins an impeller that pulls air through the bag and the HEPA stack and out through the exhaust. That airflow is what actually lifts soil out of a carpet pile — the brush roll agitates it loose, but the air is what carries it away. Supplying it in its housing means the mounting, the gasket faces and the airflow path all come pre-aligned.
