The Foam Exhaust Filter (part# K64147650) is Tacony’s OEM foam exhaust media for the 12-inch Tornado CV 30 and the 15-inch Tornado CV 38, supplied three to a pack. Tacony lists it as the alternative to the True HEPA cartridge rather than an addition to it.

Foam is the choice where the machine is not being used to meet a HEPA requirement and the operator would rather change a cheap pad often than a cartridge occasionally. It handles the same job at the exhaust and it tolerates a dusty building better, because a clogged foam pad is a two-minute swap and a clogged cartridge is a purchase.

Fitting notes

Unplug the machine and open the exhaust cover. The foam sits in the frame, K57316140, not loose in the recess — press it flat into the frame so no edge stands proud, then slide the frame home until it seats. A pad that is folded or proud of the frame lets air round the side.

How to be sure this is your part

Check what is at your exhaust before ordering. A pleated cartridge in a moulded surround means your machine is set up for HEPA and takes K64147600. A flat pad in a plastic carrier means foam, and this is the right pack. If the carrier is missing, add K57316140.

Why three in a pack?

Because foam is the consumable in this arrangement. One pack is roughly a year of changes for a machine in daily use, and buying singles costs more per pad.

Does fitting foam instead of HEPA change what the machine is rated for?

Yes, and it is worth being clear about it. The sealed HEPA cartridge is what gives these machines their HEPA filtration claim. Running foam at the exhaust is a legitimate Tacony option and filters the exhaust air, but it is not HEPA. If the building requires HEPA filtration, fit K64147600.

Is this an original Tacony part?
