Tornado CV 38/2 & 48/2 Complete Vacuum Motor K40608140

The Complete Vacuum Motor (part# K40608140) is a genuine Tacony OEM replacement for the Tornado CV 38/2 and Tornado CV 48/2 commercial upright vacuums. It is the complete suction motor assembly for the two HEPA-filtered machines in the range — motor, fan housing and mountings supplied as one unit.

A vacuum motor is a wear item with a finite brush life, and on a machine running several hours a day that life is measured in months rather than years. The usual signs are a drop in suction that new filters do not fix, a rising pitch or a burning smell, and brush dust inside the motor chamber. Supplied complete, so there is no need to transfer parts from the old motor.

Fitting notes

This is a mains-voltage component — unplug the machine and let it stand before opening the motor chamber. Photograph the cable routing and the terminal positions before disconnecting anything; the motor cable and the terminal are separate part numbers on this same breakdown and are worth inspecting while the chamber is open. Seat the new motor on its mountings squarely before tightening, or it will run noisy.
