AllFloor Floorhead SBB — One Brush for Every Floor Type, Without Switching
The AllFloor floorhead SBB is the Guard L1’s defining feature — a single flat floorhead that transitions seamlessly between hard floors, low-pile carpet, medium-pile carpet, and area rugs without needing to be swapped. The AllFloor’s unique flat design allows it to reach under furniture more easily than traditional round-profile floorheads, and its flexible neck provides exceptional agility in tight spaces. The AllFloor uses a combination of bristles and suction optimization to handle different surfaces — you clean your entire home with one floorhead. The SBD 365-3 AllTeQ floorhead is also included as a second option for users who prefer a dedicated suction-only hard floor head.
Footswitch +/- Suction Control — No Bending Required
The Guard L1 replaces the Classic C1’s canister-mounted rotary dial with footswitch +/- controls on the canister body — adjustable with a light tap of your foot without stopping, bending, or reaching back to the canister. An illuminated power indicator shows the current setting at all times. Four selectable power modes cover everything from delicate upholstery at minimum to full power deep cleaning. The footswitch design is one of the Guard series’ most appreciated user experience improvements over the Classic C1.
AirClean Plus Filter — More Than 99.99% Dust Retention
The AirClean Plus filter delivers more than 99.99% dust retention per IEC 62885-2:2021 — Miele’s ComfortFit sealed filter system ensures that the air leaving the Guard L1 is cleaner than the room air before vacuuming. This is a step above the standard AirClean filter on the Classic C1 series. For allergy sufferers requiring certified HEPA-level filtration, an optional HEPA AirClean filter SF-HA 50-1 ($64) — a Guard-series-specific part — is available as a direct replacement upgrade.
HyClean Pure TU Bags — Guard Series Exclusive
The Guard L1 uses HyClean Pure TU bags — a new bag format exclusive to the Guard L1 and Guard S1 series, different from the HyClean GN bags used by the Classic C1 and Complete C3 series.
