HEPA Bag (Bulk Single) B220-5382C

The HEPA bag (part B220-5382C) is a single Type L HEPA media bag for the ultra-lightweight upright platform, sold individually from bulk — Tacony catalogues it as the Simplicity Type L HEPA media bag, one-pack. It fits the Tornado CK ULW 13/1 (TV280-W12-U) and the Riccar R10D, R10P, R10S, R10SAND and R17. The HEPA media traps much finer dust than a paper bag, which is what keeps fine grit out of the motor and fine dust out of the air coming off the machine.

This is a genuine Tacony OEM bag. On the Tornado CK ULW 13/1 it is one of three bag options listed in the factory handle and body assembly sheet.

Compatible Models for the HEPA Bag B220-5382C

• Tornado: TV280-W12-U (CK ULW 13/1)
• Any Tacony ultra-lightweight upright that takes a Type L bag
• Riccar: R10D, R10P, R10S, R10SAND, R17

Bags are matched by bag type, not by brand badge, so the practical test is whether your machine takes a Type L bag. The Tornado CK ULW 13/1 is confirmed from its factory sheet. If you are not sure which type your machine takes, bring the old bag in or call with the model number and we will match it.

What the HEPA bag does

The bag is both the dust store and the first stage of filtration. Air drawn through the nozzle passes into the bag, the media holds the dirt, and the filtered air carries on to the motor. HEPA media is built in layers so that fine particles are captured in the depth of the material rather than on the surface, which is why it keeps its airflow longer than a paper bag of the same size once dust starts to load.

When to change it

Change the bag when it is about two-thirds full rather than waiting for it to be packed, because suction falls away well before a bag looks full. A machine that has lost pull, a brushroll that sounds like it is working harder, or a smell on the exhaust are all signs the bag has had enough. Change it after any job with plaster dust or fine powder, whatever it looks like.

Fitting the bag

Unplug the machine. Open the bag compartment, lift the full bag off its mount by the collar, and close the collar before you carry it to the bin so the contents stay in the bag. Slide the new bag onto the mount until the collar seats fully and check that it sits square before closing the cover — a bag that is not seated properly will let dust past the mount and into the machine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a single bag or a pack?

It is a single bag, sold individually from bulk. If you would rather buy them several at a time, the same callout on the factory sheet also lists a six-pack (CLH-6).

What is a Type L HEPA bag?

Type L is Tacony’s designation for the bag used in its ultra-lightweight uprights, and the HEPA version uses a multi-layer media that captures far finer particles than a paper bag. Tacony catalogues this part as the Simplicity Type L HEPA media bag, single.

Will it fit my Tornado CK ULW 13/1?

Yes. On the Tornado CK ULW 13/1 (model TV280-W12-U) it is shown in the factory handle and body assembly sheet, which lists it alongside the six-pack and the paper-bag alternative. Bags are chosen by type rather than by badge, so any machine taking a Type L bag takes this one.

HEPA or paper — which should I use?

HEPA media holds finer dust and is the better choice for allergy sufferers and for commercial work where the machine runs all day. The paper bag (B211-8800) is the cheaper consumable and is fine for general cleaning. Both fit the same bag mount, so you can switch between them freely.

Does this Type L HEPA bag fit Riccar ultra-lightweight uprights?

Yes. Type L is the bag for this whole platform, so it fits the Riccar R10D, R10P, R10S, R10SAND and R17 as well as the Tornado CK ULW 13/1. Check that your machine takes a Type L collar bag rather than a different bag type before ordering.
