3 in. Dusting Brush Tool CT184

$19.99

Genuine Tacony OEM 3-inch round dusting brush tool, part number CT184, with belt clip. Fits Tornado Pac-Vac, CleanMax CMBP and Powr-Flite Comfort Pro backpack vacuums.

The dusting brush tool (part# CT184) is a genuine Tacony OEM attachment for the Tornado, CleanMax and Powr-Flite backpack vacuum range. It is a 1-1/2 by 3 inch round brush head on a black plastic body, supplied with a belt clip. The bristles let it lift dust off surfaces that a bare nozzle would either skate over or scratch, which makes it the tool for vents, sills, blinds, keyboards, upholstered furniture frames and the tops of door frames and picture rails.

Compatible Models for the 3-Inch Dusting Brush

This tool is a genuine Tacony OEM component shared across multiple brands and models:

Does it fit my hose?

All the attachment tools in this range share the same 1-1/2 inch cuff, so any of them fits any of the machines listed above. If you have one of those backpacks, this tool fits it — there is no separate 6-quart and 10-quart version of the attachments.

What the brush is actually for

The bristles do two jobs at once. They agitate dust that has bonded to a surface so airflow can carry it away, and they hold the nozzle a few millimetres clear of that surface so the plastic never touches it. That second job is why you use a brush on a polished sill, a monitor bezel or a painted frame rather than a bare nozzle.

It is also the right tool for high dusting. Because it works on contact rather than on suction alone, it clears vents, ledges and the tops of frames on a single pass instead of needing to be held in place.

When to replace it

Replace it when the bristles have worn short, splayed or fallen out in patches. Worn bristles stop holding the nozzle off the surface, which is the point at which a dusting brush starts marking the things it is supposed to be cleaning.

Also replace it if the swivel has seized, if the cuff no longer grips the hose firmly, or if the body has cracked. As with any attachment, a crack in the body leaks air and quietly costs you suction.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size is the CT184 dusting brush?

The brush head is 1-1/2 by 3 inches, on a 1-1/2 inch cuff. It is supplied with a belt clip so it can be carried on the machine.

When should I use a dusting brush instead of the bare nozzle?

On anything you do not want scratched or scuffed – polished sills, vents, blinds, keyboards, monitor bezels, painted frames and upholstered furniture. The bristles hold the plastic clear of the surface and agitate dust that has bonded to it.

How do I know if my dusting brush (part# CT184) needs replacing?

Bristles that have worn short, splayed or fallen out in patches, a seized swivel, a cuff that no longer grips the hose, or a cracked body. Once the bristles are worn the nozzle starts touching the surface, which is how dusting brushes end up marking what they clean.

What machines does the dusting brush tool (part# CT184) fit?

Tornado Pac-Vac 6 Aircomfort (93012), Pac-Vac 10 Aircomfort (93014) and Pac-Vac 6 Roam (93016B-1); CleanMax CMBP-6.2 and CMBP-6CL; and the Powr-Flite Comfort Pro backpacks BP6P, BP6S, BP10P, BP10S, CPF6P and CPF6P-1C.
