Filter X9294
$6.99
Genuine Tacony OEM filter (part# X9294) for the Tornado Marathon SE 900 (Model 98170) and Powr-Flite Prowler PFX900S. A consumable that costs a few dollars and protects components that cost a great deal more.
The Filter (part# X9294) is a genuine Tacony OEM replacement part from the recovery and solution tank assembly of the Tornado Marathon SE 900 self-contained carpet extractor. It is the replaceable filter element that traps debris before it reaches the components downstream of it.
What the Filter does
A filter is a deliberate restriction placed where you can service it, so that debris collects somewhere reachable instead of somewhere expensive. On an extractor that means grit and fibre are caught before they get into a pump, a valve seat or a motor, all of which fail slowly and quietly when they are fed dirty flow.
When to replace the Filter (X9294)
Replace it on a schedule rather than waiting for a symptom, and immediately if it is torn, collapsed, or so loaded that flow has dropped. A blocked filter is often blamed on the pump, because both present as weak output at the wand.
Filter X9294 — fitment and installation notes
Fit it the correct way round where the element is directional; a filter installed backwards will pass what it should have stopped. Do not wash and reuse a paper or fine element, and check the housing seal at the same time, since a leaking housing lets unfiltered flow bypass a perfectly good filter. Tacony builds the Tornado Marathon SE 900 and the Powr-Flite Prowler PFX900S on a single machine platform, so this component carries across both brands rather than belonging to either one. It is a shared Tacony component and may fit additional models beyond those listed — call us and we will confirm against your serial number.
