The Motor Gasket (Poly Foam) w/Adhesive (part# 30089) is the genuine Tacony OEM seal that sits between the vacuum motor and its mounting on the Tornado CK 3030 wide-area vacuum (Model 93030).

The gasket does two jobs at once. It seals the joint so the motor draws its air through the filter path rather than pulling unfiltered air in around its own mounting, and it isolates the motor from the chassis so the vibration and noise of a high-speed armature are not transmitted straight into the housing. Poly foam is used because it stays compliant under constant compression and heat; the adhesive backing bonds it in place so it cannot creep out of position as the motor settles.

Replace it every time the motor comes out — it is a one-use part. Peeling a bonded foam gasket off almost always tears it, and a torn gasket reinstalled leaves both an air leak and a hard spot that passes vibration through. Clean the mounting face back to bare material before fitting the new one; residue from the old adhesive stops the new gasket bedding evenly and it will lift at the edges.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Motor Gasket do on the Tornado 93030?

It seals the vacuum motor to its mounting so the motor cannot draw unfiltered air in around itself, and it isolates motor vibration and noise from the chassis.

Do I need a new gasket if I take the motor out?

Yes. It is adhesive-backed poly foam and it tears on removal. Reusing a torn gasket leaves an air leak and a hard spot that transmits vibration. Always fit a new one on reassembly.

How do I know if my Motor Gasket has failed?

Signs are a noticeably louder or buzzier machine, suction that has dropped with a clean bag and filter, or visible foam breakdown and gaps at the motor mounting when you look at the joint.
