Front Cord Hook B431-4914
$2.99
Genuine OEM front cord hook (part# B431-4914) for the Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 and 97131, and the Powr-Flite PF62EC. Call 763-535-0770.
The Front Cord Hook (part# B431-4914) is the lower of the two wrap points on the handle tube of the Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 (115V) and 97131 (230V), and of the Powr-Flite PF62EC. It is the hook that releases the cord, so it is the one an operator flicks at the start of every job.
Front hooks on commercial uprights are usually designed to rotate or tip so the whole coil can be dropped in one movement rather than unwound turn by turn. That is a real time saving over a shift and it is also why this hook wears differently from the upper one: the failure is at the pivot or the root of the moulding, from repeated twisting rather than from a single impact. A hook that has gone loose enough to swing on its own will dump the cord while the machine is being carried.

Fitting it
It is a single-screw change on the handle tube with the cord unwrapped. Worth doing at the same time as the upper hook, part number B431-4814, since both live in the same weather and a machine that has broken one is usually working on the other. If the tube itself has an elongated screw hole, the new hook will feel loose straight away — check that before blaming the part.
Twin City Vacuum has been selling and servicing Tornado equipment since 1956. Call 763-535-0770 with your model and serial number and we will confirm the part before you order.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which machines does this hook fit?
The Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 and 97131, and the Powr-Flite PF62EC.
Is this the same as the upper hook?
No. The upper cord hook is B431-4814 and this is the front hook, B431-4914. They are different mouldings and will not substitute for each other.
The new hook still feels loose. Why?
Check the screw hole in the handle tube. Once that hole has opened up, any hook mounted to it will move. The tube is part number B431-4700B.
