Nyloc Nut A090-0500

$1.99

Genuine OEM nyloc locking nut (part# A090-0500) for the Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 and 97131, and the Powr-Flite PF62EC. Call 763-535-0770.

The Nyloc Nut (part# A090-0500) is the locking nut that pairs with the 10-24 machine screw on the Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 (115V) and 97131 (230V), and on the Powr-Flite PF62EC.

A nyloc nut has a nylon collar set into its crown. The screw thread cuts its own path through that nylon as the nut goes on, and the friction of the deformed nylon against the thread is what stops the joint backing off. It is a mechanical lock, not a chemical one, which is why it works on a machine that runs warm and gets washed down — conditions where thread-locking compound is unreliable.

Compatible Models

  • Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, model 97130 (115V)
  • Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, model 97131 (230V)
  • Powr-Flite PF62EC

One use, then replace

The nylon deforms permanently the first time a thread passes through it. A nut that has been off and back on will spin on further before it tightens and will hold less, and one that can be run down by fingers to the seat has no locking left at all. They cost very little; fit a new one every time the joint is broken.

Its partner is part number A090-0400, the 10-24 x 1 in machine screw. Keeping both on the van means a vibration-critical joint can be properly remade on site rather than nursed with whatever is in the tray.

Twin City Vacuum has been selling and servicing Tornado equipment since 1956. Call 763-535-0770 with your model and serial number and we will confirm the part before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which machines does this nut fit?

The Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 and 97131, and the Powr-Flite PF62EC.

What is a nyloc nut?

A nut with a nylon collar in its crown. The screw thread cuts through the nylon as it goes on, and the friction that creates is what stops the joint vibrating loose.

Can I reuse one?

No. The nylon deforms permanently the first time. A reused nut runs down further before it tightens and holds less – if it spins to the seat by hand, it has no locking left at all.
