Reducer 3/8″ MPT x 1/4″ FPT Nylon X2198

The Nylon Reducer 3/8″ MPT x 1/4″ FPT (part# X2198) is a genuine OEM reducing bushing from the solution plumbing of Tornado and Powr-Flite commercial carpet extractors. It steps a 3/8″ male pipe thread down to a 1/4″ female pipe thread so that two differently sized halves of the circuit can be joined.

What the X2198 reducer does

Pumps, tanks and valve bodies on these machines are built with 3/8″ ports, while most of the small plumbing that carries solution to the jets is 1/4″. The reducer is the adapter between the two. It is a small part with an outsized effect: it sits in the pressurised line, so a reducer that weeps or cracks bleeds off the pressure the spray jets need and the machine starts wetting unevenly long before anyone notices a drip.
