$4.99

Genuine Tacony OEM complete strain relief, part number B352-6800. Clamps the power cord where it enters the machine. Fits Tornado Pac-Vac 6/10 Aircomfort, Powr-Flite PF300BP/PF600BP/PF1000BP and Carpet Pro SCBP-1.

The complete strain relief (part# B352-6800) is a genuine Tacony OEM part that clamps the power cord where it enters the machine. It is a small moulded fitting doing a job entirely out of proportion to its size: it absorbs every pull on the cord so that force never reaches the electrical terminations inside.

Compatible Models for the Strain Relief

This part is a genuine Tacony OEM component shared across multiple brands and models:

Corded machines only. The battery-powered Pac-Vac 6 Roam (93016) has no mains cord and does not use this part.

Small part, large consequences

Every time an operator yanks the lead to free it from a doorway or pulls the plug out by the cord, that force has to be absorbed somewhere. The strain relief is designed to be where. It grips the cord jacket and transfers the load into the housing, so the conductors and their terminations never see it.

When the strain relief fails, the load goes straight to the terminals instead. Conductors work loose, strands break one at a time, and resistance rises at the joint. That is how you get a machine that works intermittently, a connection that runs hot, and eventually a burnt terminal — all traceable back to a part that costs a few dollars.

When to replace the strain relief

Replace it whenever you replace the power cord (part# B352-3200). An old strain relief moulded around an old cord will not grip a new one properly, and fitting a new cord into a tired clamp wastes most of the benefit.

Replace it on its own if the cord can be pushed or pulled through it at all, if the clamp is cracked or has lost a section, if the cord jacket is visibly pinched or damaged where it passes through, or if the whole fitting is loose in its opening.

The test is simple: with the machine unplugged, take hold of the cord just outside the housing and push and pull firmly. Nothing should move. Any movement at all means the strain relief is no longer doing its job.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a strain relief actually do?

It clamps the power cord where it enters the machine so that any pull on the cord is absorbed by the housing rather than by the electrical connections inside. Without it, tugs on the lead go straight to the terminals.

Should I replace the strain relief when I replace the cord?

Yes. An old strain relief has moulded itself around the old cord and will not grip a new one properly. It is an inexpensive part and fitting a new cord into a worn clamp undoes much of the repair.

How do I know if my strain relief (part# B352-6800) needs replacing?

Unplug the machine, grip the cord just outside the housing and push and pull firmly. If the cord moves through the fitting at all, the strain relief has failed. Also replace it if it is cracked, missing a section, loose in its opening, or if the cord jacket is pinched where it passes through.

What machines does the strain relief (part# B352-6800) fit?

Tornado Pac-Vac 6 Aircomfort (93012) and Pac-Vac 10 Aircomfort (93014), the discontinued Tornado PV 6 and PV 10 back vacuums (93028, 93029, 93034), and Powr-Flite PF300BP, PF600BP, PF1000BP and PF600BPG backpack vacuums, plus the Carpet Pro SCBP-1 and the CFR30BP.
