Genuine Tornado OEM 8 ft. high-performance combination hose (part# 95560) carrying both the vacuum recovery path and the solution pressure line in one sheathed run for the PS Series professional spotters. Tornado lists it as required in order to use the optional tools — the factory states that requirement without explaining why, so we do not guess at a reason. Fits the PS Spotter 98220, 98221 and 98225 — see the compatibility list below.

One hose doing two jobs
A combination hose carries the vacuum path and the solution line together in a single sheathed run. That is worth understanding because it means the hose is working under two opposite pressures at once: the vacuum side is below atmospheric and wants to collapse, while the solution line is above it and wants to balloon. A hose built for one of those duties is not automatically suited to the other, which is what the “high performance” designation is about.
It also means a single hose failure can present in two completely different ways. A fault on the vacuum side shows up as lost pickup — the machine sounds normal but leaves the carpet wet, because it is drawing air through a split instead of through the tool. A fault on the solution side shows up as weak or lagging spray. One hose, two distinct symptoms, and they can appear separately.
The 8-foot length is the other half of the specification. Tornado lists this hose as required for the optional tools and the factory states that requirement without giving a reason, so we are not going to invent one. If you have bought a drag wand, a crevice tool, a stair tool or an upholstery tool for this machine and cannot get it to the work, this hose is the missing piece rather than an upgrade.
When to replace it
Replace the hose if the outer sheath is cut, split, abraded through or crushed anywhere along its length; if either cuff is cracked, loose on the hose or no longer seals to the machine and the tool; if the vacuum path has a split that you can hear drawing air; or if the solution line weeps, balloons under pressure or has gone hard and crazed.
Check the first and last foot most carefully. Those are the sections that get stepped on, dragged round door frames and flexed hardest at the cuffs, and they fail long before the middle does.
Replace it if the machine has lost pickup with a sound motor, clean filters and a working float shut-off — on a combination hose a vacuum-side split is a common cause and an easy one to overlook, because nothing leaks visibly.
Fitting notes
Connect and seat both ends fully. On the machine end, check the vacuum cuff is pushed home and the solution quick-disconnect has clicked and locked; a QD that is engaged but not latched holds briefly and then releases under pressure.
Do not coil the hose tightly while it is still warm, and do not hang it over a sharp edge — those two habits account for most premature cuff and sheath failures. Keep it off the path of the machine’s own wheels. Before putting the machine back to work, run the pump and check the solution side for leaks at both cuffs, then block the tool briefly and confirm the vacuum holds, which will show up a split in the recovery path straight away.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need the Vacuum and Pressure Hose 95560 for the optional tools?
Yes — Tornado’s own documentation lists it as required in order to use the optional tools. The factory states the requirement without explaining why, so neither will we. If you have a drag wand, crevice tool, stair tool or upholstery tool for this machine and cannot get it to the work, this hose is the missing piece rather than an upgrade.
What does a combination hose actually do?
It carries the vacuum recovery path and the solution pressure line together in one sheathed run, which means it works under two opposite pressures at once — the vacuum side below atmospheric and wanting to collapse, the solution side above it and wanting to balloon. That is what the high-performance construction is for.
My machine lost pickup but the motor sounds fine. Could it be this hose?
It is a common cause and an easy one to miss, because a vacuum-side split leaks nothing visible — the machine simply draws air through the split instead of through the tool. With a sound motor, clean filters and a working float shut-off, block the tool briefly and see whether the vacuum holds.
