Genuine Tornado OEM solution hose supplied as a complete assembly (part# 30801) for the PS Series professional spotters — hose with the threaded machine-end fitting and the tool quick-disconnect already made up and tested. The two ends are different and both are pressure joints, which is why it ships assembled. Fits the PS Spotter 98220, 98221 and 98225 — see the compatibility list below.

Why buy it as an assembly
This is the hose that carries cleaning solution from the machine out to the tool, and it is the one the operator handles constantly. Buying it as a made-up assembly rather than as hose and fittings separately matters for a specific reason: the two ends are not the same, and both are pressure joints.
One end carries a threaded fitting that makes up to the machine’s plumbing; the other carries the quick-disconnect half that the tool clips onto. Each has to be sealed correctly, and a pressure hose built up on the bench is only as good as the clamps and sealant used on the day. The factory assembly arrives with both terminations made and tested, which removes the two joints most likely to weep from the job entirely.
It also removes the sizing question. Buy the hose loose and you still need the right fittings, the right clamps and the right length; buy the assembly and the length is the one the machine was designed around, with no slack to coil awkwardly and no tension pulling at either joint.
When to replace it
Replace the assembly if the hose is split, cracked or weeping anywhere along its length; if a section balloons visibly when the pump runs, which means the wall has softened and is absorbing the pump’s output instead of delivering it; if it has taken a permanent kink or flat spot; or if the wall has gone hard and crazed with age.
Replace it if the quick-disconnect no longer locks positively, leaks when the tool is connected, or has a damaged or missing seal — a QD that will not seal is a pressure leak at the point the operator holds. Replace it if the threaded end weeps and will not stop sealing after the joint has been properly remade.
Check the ends specifically. The highest stress is right at each fitting, and a hose can look perfect along its length while being split where it enters a ferrule or a clamp. Any weep at a fitting that does not clear when the joint is remade means the hose end itself has gone.
A machine with weak or lagging spray, a pump that sounds completely normal, a clear tool jet and clean filters is a machine whose solution hose is worth examining before anything else is condemned.
Fitting notes
Depressurise the solution circuit before disconnecting anything, and have a cloth ready — a pressure hose holds solution after the pump stops.
Route the new assembly along the original path. Check as the housing closes that nothing forces a tight bend near either fitting, because a kink introduced at reassembly behaves exactly like a blocked jet and is hidden from the operator. Make the threaded end up with fresh sealant to a firm seal and no further, supporting the mating fitting with a second wrench so the torque does not pass into the rest of the plumbing. Confirm the quick-disconnect clicks home and holds the tool positively, then run the pump and check both ends under pressure before the machine goes back to work.

Frequently Asked Questions
What comes with the Solution Hose Assembly 30801?
The hose complete with both terminations made up — a threaded fitting at the machine end and the quick-disconnect half that the tool clips onto. The two ends are different and both are pressure joints, which is the main reason it is supplied as an assembly rather than as hose and fittings separately.
How do I tell a failing solution hose from a failing pump?
A hose that has softened expands under pressure, so the spray goes soft, lags behind the trigger and dribbles after it is released. A kinked hose shuts the flow off at one hidden point and reads as a dead pump. In both cases the pump still sounds normal, the jet is clear and the filters are clean.
The quick-disconnect leaks when I connect the tool. Does that mean a new assembly?
Usually yes. A quick-disconnect that will not lock positively, leaks under pressure, or has a damaged or missing seal is a pressure leak at the point the operator is holding. Check the hose end under the fitting too — a hose can look sound along its length and be split where it enters the ferrule.
