Tornado Tempest Caster Reinforcement Plate K50984010

This is the reinforcement plate that backs the caster mounting point on the Tornado Tempest. Tacony’s dealer record names it Reinforcement Plate, Castor; the printed parts book calls the same number Caster Plate. One is fitted per machine.

What the Caster Reinforcement Plate Does

The whole front weight of the sweeper goes through a single M10 screw at the caster. Without a plate spreading that load, the screw would work against a small area of the housing and eventually pull through it. The plate turns a point load into a distributed one, which is what stops the housing cracking around the caster hole.

Where It Sits on the Machine

It sits against the underside of the bottom housing at the caster mounting point on the Tempest handle and frame diagram, in the stack with the washer gasket and the M10 hardware.

When to Replace It

Replace the plate if it has bent, cracked, or dished around the screw hole. A dished plate is the warning sign that the joint has been running loose or over-tightened, and it is worth catching before the housing itself starts to deform — the plate is a fraction of the cost of a bottom housing.

Fitting Notes

Inspect the housing around the caster hole at the same time, because a distorted plate usually means the housing has taken some of that load too. Reassemble in the original order with a new gasket, tighten the M10 hardware firmly, and confirm the caster swivels freely before the machine goes back to work.
