About Tornado Tempest parts for the TV400-W26-U

The Tempest is Tornado’s battery-powered wide-area sweeper: a 26-inch cleaning path, a 36V lithium-ion pack and a side broom that pulls debris in from along walls and under fixtures. Because it runs off a battery rather than a cord, the parts that wear on a Tempest are not quite the parts that wear on a mains upright. The pack and charger, the two control boards and the power microswitch account for the majority of what we are asked for, followed by the brushroll and its bearings, the filter and blower assembly, and the side-broom drive.

How to find the right Tornado Tempest part

Work from the diagram, not from the description. If you have the old part in your hand, the Tacony number stamped or printed on it is the surest match. My Tempest will not switch on — where do I start? Confirm the pack holds charge, then check the power microswitch (part# K66303310) and its housing (part# K50609980) before suspecting the system control board (part# K46833200). A machine that powers up but will not drive a motor points at the motor control board (part# K46833210) instead.

Are Tempest parts the same as Strike or Zephyr parts? Some are. The battery, charger and several fasteners are shared across the Tornado cordless range, but the Tempest’s electronics, brushroll and side broom are its own. Each part page here lists every machine that part fits.
