Tornado Tempest Filter and Blower Nut K73114300

This is the nut used in the Tornado Tempest filter and blower assembly. The parts book describes it only as Nut and there is no dealer record for the number, so we have named it for the assembly it belongs to. The Tempest uses separate nut part numbers at the caster, the axle, the fixing strap, the adjustment knob, the debris bag clamp and the baffle plate, and none of them are interchangeable with this one.

What the Filter and Blower Nut Does

Four are fitted, working with the M4 x 12 screws on the same part of the assembly. Nuts on a filtration housing hold components that have to stay in position against constant vibration from the vacuum motor, which is why the fastener count is higher than the static load would suggest.

Replace a nut whose thread is stretched, that spins on with no resistance, or that has been running loose. It costs very little and a nut that has vibrated loose once on a motor-mounted assembly will do it again.
