Tornado Tempest Filter Top Gasket K53650840

This is the top gasket for the Tornado Tempest filter. Tacony’s dealer record names it Top Gasket, Filter, which is what distinguishes it from the other filter gasket at the opposite face. The parts book prints both as Seal, so the part number is what matters when ordering.

What the Filter Top Gasket Does

The filter is sealed at both faces, and both seals have to hold for the filter to do its job. This one closes the upper joint between the filter and its housing. When it hardens or tears, air takes the easy route around the top of the filter and the machine puts fine dust back into the room while appearing to work normally.

Replace it with the filter, and any time it has gone hard, torn or taken a set. If you are chasing dust in the room with a filter you know is sound, replace both gaskets rather than one — they age together, and testing them individually in situ is not practical.

Fitting Notes

Clean the housing face first so the new gasket seats on clean material. Fit it without stretching, then check the filter sits square and the cleaning bar still sweeps its full face before closing the machine up.
