This is the clamp fitted on the Tornado Tempest push handle. Tacony’s dealer record names it Clamp, Handle. It is a small, low-cost part whose job is to keep cabling and the harness routed tidily along the handle rather than hanging loose where it can be snagged.

What the Handle Clamp Does

On a cordless machine the wiring between the handle controls and the body has to survive the handle being folded and raised thousands of times. A clamp holds that run against the tube so the cable flexes in a controlled loop instead of being stretched or pinched at the pivot. It is the cheapest insurance on the machine against a harness failure.

When to Replace It

Replace a clamp that has cracked, lost its grip, or gone missing. A missing clamp is worth replacing promptly rather than leaving: once a cable run is unsupported it will chafe against the handle or get caught when the handle is folded, and a damaged harness is a far more expensive repair than a clamp.

Fitting Notes

Route the cable with enough slack that folding the handle does not put the run under tension, then close the clamp. Fold the handle fully and raise it again before you consider the job done — that is the only way to confirm the run has enough slack at both extremes.

Yes. It costs very little and it is what keeps the handle cable run supported. Leaving a missing clamp means the cable chafes or gets caught when the handle folds, and a damaged harness is a much bigger bill than the clamp.

How do I know the cable has enough slack?

Fit the clamp, then fold the handle all the way down and raise it fully again. The cable should never go tight at either extreme, and it should not be pinched at the pivot when the handle is folded. If it does go tight, ease some slack through the clamp and check again.
