This is the M6 x 10 screw used on the Tornado Tempest filter and blower assembly. Tacony publishes the size in the part description and it is the only M6 x 10 on the machine — the Tempest also uses M6 x 16, M6 x 20 and M6 x 35 screws, all separate part numbers.

A single fixing in an assembly usually means it is doing something specific rather than sharing a load, so it is worth putting the right one back. At 10mm the thread engagement is set by the depth of the boss it goes into, which is why the length is specified rather than left to whatever is in the drawer.

Replace it if the head is rounded or the thread is damaged. If it will not tighten, the boss has stripped rather than the screw, and that is worth a call to us before it is forced any further.

Fitting Notes

Tighten it snug rather than hard. Like most of the fixings on this assembly it threads into a moulded boss, and the failure mode of over-tightening is a stripped boss that costs considerably more to put right than the screw.
