Two part numbers, one description — read this before ordering

The factory parts book for the deluxe spotter lists two eight-foot vacuum and pressure hose assemblies against the same callout, 19535 and 19639, with word-for-word identical descriptions and identical model coverage. The book does not say what separates them, and we are not going to guess: a hose assembly carries both the vacuum path and the pressurised solution line, and the cuff, the fitting and the internal line are not interchangeable by eye. We have asked Tornado which number supersedes which. Until that is answered we list both exactly as the factory does.

Call us at 763-535-0770 with your model and serial number before ordering either one. We will read the correct number off your machine’s own book rather than have you order a hose that fits the chassis but not the fittings.

How the hose is built, and why that matters

The assembly is not a length of hose — it is a built unit. A large-bore vacuum tube carries recovered solution back to the tank under suction; a smaller pressurised line runs with it to the trigger valve on the tool; and both are terminated with cuffs and fittings sized to the machine at one end and the tool at the other. Buy it as an assembly because every one of those interfaces has to be right at once.

The vacuum path is the part that fails in a way you can see. The solution line is the part that fails in a way you cannot: it is enclosed, so a split sprays into the jacket and the only evidence at the tool is a jet that has gone soft.

What goes wrong with these assemblies

Three things, in roughly this order. First, the cuff at the machine end — the hose is pulled off by the cuff hundreds of times, and eventually it pulls out of it or splits just behind it. Second, crush damage, from the machine being set down on the hose or the hose being closed in a vehicle door, which leaves a flattened section that restricts airflow permanently. Third, the solution line, which weeps at a fitting or splits at a flex point.

Replace the assembly when the vacuum path has split, collapsed or parted from its cuff, when the solution line leaks anywhere, or when a fitting will not seal with a fresh seal. A patched vacuum hose does not stay patched — the repair is under suction every time the machine runs.

Fitting notes

Check the fittings against the ones coming off before anything else: length alone does not make two assemblies interchangeable. Lay the new hose out straight and let it relax before fitting, so it is not trying to unwind itself at the cuff. Avoid a tight radius where it leaves the machine, which is where a hose that fails early almost always fails. Finally, pressurise the solution line against a closed trigger and look for weeping at every joint before the machine is signed off.

Keep the old assembly until the new one has been pressure-tested. If the new hose shows the same symptom, the fault was never in the hose.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Vacuum/Pressure Hose Assembly 19639?

A genuine OEM eight-foot combined hose assembly for the PS Series spotters. It carries the large-bore vacuum return and the smaller pressurised solution feed in one bundled line, terminated with cuffs and fittings matched to the machine at one end and the tool at the other.

Is 19639 the same as 19535?

The factory book lists both against the same callout with identical descriptions and identical model coverage, and does not state what separates them. We have asked Tornado and will not guess. Call us at 763-535-0770 with your model and serial number and we will confirm which number your machine’s own book calls for.

What usually fails on one of these hose assemblies?

Most often the cuff at the machine end, which is pulled on hundreds of times until the hose parts from it or splits just behind it. Then crush damage, which leaves a permanently flattened section that restricts airflow. Then the solution line, which weeps at a fitting or splits at a flex point — and because it is enclosed, that one shows up only as a soft jet.
