Tornado Wheel 6 in. x 1-1/4 in. 19505

$27.99

Genuine Tornado OEM transport wheel, 6 in. diameter x 1-1/4 in. tread, black with a black hub (part# 19505), for the PS Series professional spotters. The diameter clears thresholds and carpet edges; the tread width spreads the load so it does not plough into pile or mark a finished floor. Replace both wheels together.

The Tornado Wheel 6 in. x 1-1/4 in. 19505 is the genuine OEM transport wheel for the PS Series professional spotters. Tornado’s dealer catalog lists it as “Wheel, 6 Dia. It also fits the Tornado PS8226 Spotter 98226, the 230-volt build of the deluxe PS Series spotter.

What the wheel does, and why the size is specified

The spotter runs on a pair of these at the back and is tipped and wheeled rather than carried whenever it is moved more than a few steps. Both the diameter and the tread width are doing work.

The 6 inch diameter is what lets the machine roll over a door threshold, a carpet edge or a lift lip instead of stopping dead at it. A smaller wheel catches on exactly those transitions and either tips the machine or has to be lifted over, which is how spotters get dropped.

The 1-1/4 inch tread width spreads the load so the wheel rolls across carpet pile rather than ploughing into it, and — the part most operators care about — so it does not mark a finished floor. A narrow wheel carrying the same weight concentrates the pressure and can leave a track on vinyl or a scuff on a polished surface.

Each wheel runs on the screw and spacer behind it, and those three parts wear as a set.

When to replace a wheel

Replace a wheel when the tread has flat-spotted from the machine standing in one place for long periods, when the tread is cracked, chunked or worn into the hub, or when the hub bore has worn oval so the wheel wobbles on its axle. A wheel that squeals, judders or drags rather than rolling freely has usually worn its bore, and a wobbling wheel puts a side load on the screw that will elongate the chassis hole if it is left.

Replace both wheels together rather than one. A new wheel beside a worn one makes the machine sit and track unevenly, and the second one is rarely far behind the first.

Inspect the spacer and screw while the wheel is off. If the wheel has been running loose, the spacer is often worn and the screw scored — fitting a new wheel onto worn hardware reproduces the fault.

Fitting notes

Lay the machine over rather than balancing it, and support it so the tanks are not taking the weight. Keep the spacer in its original position in the stack — it sets the clearance that lets the wheel turn freely, and leaving it out or putting it on the wrong side clamps the wheel. Tighten the screw until the wheel is held without bind, then check it spins freely by hand before the machine goes back on its feet.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size is the Transport Wheel 19505?

6 inches in diameter with a 1-1/4 inch tread width, black with a black hub. The diameter is what lets the machine roll over thresholds and carpet edges; the tread width spreads the load so it does not plough into pile or mark a finished floor.

How do I know if my Transport Wheel needs replacing?

Look for a flat spot from the machine standing in one place, cracked or chunked tread, tread worn into the hub, or a hub bore worn oval so the wheel wobbles. Squealing, juddering or dragging instead of rolling freely usually means a worn bore.

Should I replace both wheels at once?

Yes. A new wheel beside a worn one makes the machine sit and track unevenly, and the second wheel is rarely far behind the first. Check the spacer and screw behind each wheel at the same time — a wheel that has been running loose usually wears those too.
