What the control board does

Everything electrical passes through it. It takes the switch input, manages the current drawn from the 36-volt pack, drives the brushless motor, and shuts things down if the pack or the motor goes out of limits. Because it sits between the battery and the motor, a board fault can look like a dead battery or a dead motor.

Signs it needs replacing

Suspect the board when a known-good charged pack gives no response at all, when the machine runs intermittently or cuts out under load with clean filters, or when it will not respond to the switch though the switch tests good. Visible scorching, a swollen component or a burnt smell is conclusive.

Installation and fit

Remove the pack first and treat the board as static-sensitive. Photograph every connector before disturbing it, transfer them one at a time to the new board, and confirm the machine powers up and runs through its speed before closing the housing.
