What the hose bend connector does

The elbow sets the angle between hose and wand so the hose falls away from the operator’s arm instead of fighting it, and it gives the assembly a defined pivot rather than letting the hose cuff take the twisting.

Signs it needs replacing

Replace it when it is cracked, when either end has gone loose, or when it whistles under vacuum. Because it sits at the operator’s hand it also takes most of the knocks when a machine is put down carelessly.
