This is a genuine Tacony OEM part for the Tornado Zephyr.

Compatible Models for the Insulation Assembly K42860000

• Tornado: TV570-Q03-U Zephyr cordless backpack vacuum

PartSmart lists this part on the Zephyr and on no other machine, so the fit is specific rather than shared. If your machine is a different Tornado cordless model, call 763-535-0770 with the model number and we will find the right part for it.

What the insulation assembly does

It does two quiet jobs. Acoustically it absorbs motor noise before it reaches the shell, which is most of why a backpack machine is bearable to wear for a full shift. Thermally it keeps motor heat off the surrounding mouldings and off the operator’s back.

Signs it needs replacing

Replace it if it is torn, compressed flat, oil-stained, or has come adrift from its mounting. A machine that has become noticeably louder or hotter against the back after a motor job usually has insulation that was damaged coming out.

Installation and fit

Battery out and motor compartment open. Note how the old lining sits before removing it, then fit the new one so nothing obstructs the airflow path or the motor mounting faces.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is this listed as call for price?

Tacony’s dealer catalogue does not currently list this part number, so we have no published price to quote. It is a real part on the factory sheet, so we have kept it on the list rather than hiding it — call 763-535-0770 and we will source it and price it for you.

Does the machine work without it?

It runs, but it will be louder and hotter against your back, and the surrounding plastics see heat they were not meant to.

Can I use generic acoustic foam?

No. The shape, thickness and material matter, and the wrong foam near a motor is a fire risk.

Which machines use it?

The Tornado Zephyr TV570-Q03-U only.
