What the motor wiring harness does

It carries the phase and sensing connections a brushless motor needs, with connectors moulded to fit only one way. Because it runs between two parts that both move slightly under vibration, it is built as a harness rather than loose wires.

Signs it needs replacing

Replace it when the machine cuts out as the cable is flexed, when a connector is discoloured, melted or loose on its pins, or when insulation is chafed anywhere along the run. An intermittent fault that changes when you move the cable is this part until proven otherwise.

Installation and fit

Disconnect the battery. Note the routing and any clips before removing the old harness — routing is not cosmetic here, it keeps the cable clear of the motor and its heat. Seat both connectors fully until they latch.

Only to get through a shift. Tape does not restore insulation properly and the chafe returns.
