Wooden Brush Roll B012-3000

The Wooden Brush Roll (part# B012-3000) is the agitator for the Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite lightweight commercial upright, fitting model 97130 (115V) and model 97131 (230V) and the Powr-Flite PF62EC. The manufacturer also lists it as the Pro Lite roller bar replacement, which is the same part under the machine’s other trade name.

It is a traditional wooden-core roller with bristle strips set into the timber, driven by a flat belt from the motor shaft. The wooden core is not a cost compromise on a machine of this weight: timber is stiff enough to carry the bristle load across a 13-inch nozzle without whipping, and it stays round when a plastic core of the same diameter would flex. What wears is the bristle, and once the bristle is gone the machine stops grooming carpet and starts merely passing over it, which shows up as pile that will not lift and as soil that keeps returning in traffic lanes.

If the tips sit level with the wood rather than standing clearly proud of it, the brush is finished, and no amount of belt tension will bring the agitation back. The end bearings are the second failure: a roller that rumbles, squeals or feels gritty when you spin it by hand is on its way out and will start marking carpet before it seizes. One fitment note worth stating plainly: this roller does not fit the Powr-Flite PF99, even though the PF99 takes the same paper bag and the same foam filter as these machines.
