1. Screw #10-24 x 7/16" – 0366012. Strain Relief – 1992914. Power Cord Assembly 230V EU Plug – 310942. Rocker Switch – 106709. Control Module – 192144. Cable Clamp – 187177. Nut – 191456. Nylon Screw #6-32 x 3/4" – 191243. Nylon Nut – 1788311. Circuit Breaker 2.5A – X119213. Screw #10-32 x 5/8" – 304365. Pushbutton Momentary Switch 10A – 1912115. Main Wiring Harness (Marathon 800/1200) – 322218. Rectifier 35A – X119310. Cord Hook – B352-6900The control panel is where the Tornado 98167 is switched on and where its 230-volt supply is distributed. Power enters through the power cord assembly 31094, which is the 230-volt EU-plug cord specific to this machine, secured by strain relief 19929 and tidied on cord hook B352-6900. From there the main wiring harness 32221, shared with the Marathon 800 and 1200, carries current to the rocker switch 10670 and the 10 A pushbutton momentary switch 19121 that triggers the solution spray. The control module 19214 coordinates those inputs, the 35 A rectifier X1193 supplies DC where the machine needs it, and the 2.5 A circuit breaker X1192 protects the circuit and is the first thing to check when the machine goes dead. Cable clamp 18717 keeps the harness clear of moving parts, and the panel is held together with screws 03660, 19124 and 30436, nylon nut 17883 and nuts 19145 and 30261. Twin City Vacuum has been selling and servicing Tornado equipment since 1956. Call 763-535-0770 or stop by 5415 West Broadway, Crystal, MN 55428.

Tornado 98167 Control Panel Parts – Frequently Asked Questions
What does the control panel do on the Tornado 98167?
It takes the 230-volt supply from the power cord assembly 31094 and distributes it through the main wiring harness 32221 to the brush motor, the vacuum motor and the pump. The rocker switch 10670 turns the machine on, the pushbutton momentary switch 19121 triggers the spray while held, and the control module 19214 and 35 A rectifier X1193 handle the switching logic and DC supply.
My Tornado 98167 has no power at all — where do I start?
Start with the 2.5 A circuit breaker X1192 on the panel; if it has tripped, reset it and see whether it holds. Next inspect the power cord assembly 31094 along its whole length and where it enters the strain relief 19929, which is the usual failure point on a cord that gets dragged. If the breaker holds and the cord is sound, suspect the rocker switch 10670 or the control module 19214.
Can I use a standard 120-volt cord on the Tornado 98167?
No. The 98167 is the 230-volt version of the Marathon 800 and its cord assembly 31094 is a 230-volt EU-plug cord. Fitting a 120-volt cord will not run the machine correctly and is not safe. If you need a longer 230-volt lead, the 50 ft. 230-volt EU-plug cord 31070 is listed on the Tornado 98167 service parts page.
What does the control module 19214 control?
The control module 19214 is the switching board behind the panel: it takes the signals from the rocker switch 10670 and the momentary pushbutton 19121 and drives the pump and solenoid circuit accordingly. A machine that runs the vacuum and brush normally but will not spray when the button is pressed — with a known-good pump 32227 and solenoid valve 32228 — often has a failed control module or a broken wire in harness 32221.
How do I order Tornado 98167 control panel parts or get help identifying one?
You can add any part on this page directly to your cart from its own product page, or call us at 763-535-0770. Our staff at 5415 West Broadway, Crystal, MN 55428 has been servicing Tornado equipment since 1956 and can confirm the right part against your machine’s serial number before you buy.
The pump and solenoid valve that this panel switches are on the pump assembly page, and the brush motor it powers is on the brush assembly page. Cords, filters and other routine replacements are gathered on the Tornado 98167 service parts page. Tornado publishes machine documentation at tornadovac.com.
