Base B016-1314C

The Base (part# B016-1314C) is the lower nozzle moulding of the Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 (115V) and 97131 (230V), and of the Powr-Flite PF62EC. It is the part that meets the floor.

Everything about how this machine cleans is set by the base. It carries the brush roll, mounts the wheels and the pivots, and forms the suction opening across the full 13-inch width. Because it is the lowest part of the machine it is also the part that grounds out on thresholds and lifts over cable ramps, and the wear shows on the underside as a polished band along the front lip.

When a base needs replacing

Cracks through a wheel or pivot mounting are the clear case: once a mounting is broken the geometry cannot be held and no amount of replacing wheels will fix the tracking. The less obvious case is a base worn thin along the front lip, which changes the height of the suction opening and lets air in ahead of the debris. Lay a straight edge across the underside — the lip should be square, not rounded over.

Replacing the base is the natural moment to fit a new brush roll, belt and squeegee, since all three are already off, and to check the left and right pivots (part numbers B016-0600 and B016-0400) for play.
