The Black Furniture Guard (part# B029-0414B) is the protective strip around the nozzle of the Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 (115V) and 97131 (230V), and of the Powr-Flite PF62EC.
It is the part that takes the hit so the building does not. A 13-inch nozzle driven along a skirting board at working pace makes contact constantly, and the guard is what stops that contact marking painted woodwork, desk legs and the bottom of every cabinet on the route. It also protects the nozzle moulding itself, which is a far more expensive thing to replace.

Why a missing guard shows up in complaints
Facilities complaints about scuffed skirting almost always trace back to machines running with a worn or missing furniture guard. Once the guard has worn through to the moulding behind it, every pass is plastic against paintwork. It is worth building a check into routine service: run a finger along the guard and look for flattened sections, splits at the corners, and any place the strip has lifted away from the nozzle.
A guard that has come loose at one end will also catch on carpet edges and pull further off, so refit or replace it as soon as it starts to lift rather than waiting for the next scheduled visit.
Twin City Vacuum has been selling and servicing Tornado equipment since 1956. Call 763-535-0770 with your model and serial number and we will confirm the part before you order.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which machines does this guard fit?
The Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 and 97131, and the Powr-Flite PF62EC.
Is this a cosmetic part?
No. It protects the building and the nozzle moulding. Once it has worn through, every contact with a skirting board is bare plastic against paintwork, and the nozzle itself starts taking the damage.
One end has lifted. Can I glue it?
It will not hold for long, and a lifted end catches on carpet edges and pulls the rest off. Replace it – it is an inexpensive part and a quick change.
