The handle lock is a wear assembly, and the stud usually goes before the lever. Watch for a handle that will not stay where you set it, a cam lever that needs excessive force or that flips past centre without clamping, visible bending or galling on the stud shank, or thread damage where it mounts. Because the stud, the cam lever handle (33102), the cam lever washers (33103 and 33106) and the hinge pin (33105A) all wear together, inspect the whole cam handle kit (33102-KIT) when any one part fails.

Replacement notes

Unplug the machine and support the handle before releasing the cam lever, as the handle will drop once the clamp is off. Note the order of the two cam lever washers on removal — 33103 and 33106 are different parts and are not interchangeable. Do not over-tighten the stud on reassembly; the cam lever supplies the clamping force, and a stud driven home too hard will not let the lever reach its over-centre position.
