Cloth Vacuum Bag Assembly D431-0600

The Cloth Vacuum Bag Assembly (part# D431-0600) is the outer bag on the Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 (115V) and 97131 (230V), and on the Powr-Flite PF62EC. It is the fabric shell the disposable paper bag sits inside, not the disposable bag itself.

The outer bag does three jobs at once. It holds the paper bag in shape so it can fill evenly, it contains the paper bag if that bag splits, and it is the last barrier between the dust load and the room. Because it is fabric it is also the part that shows a machine’s history: scuffed at the bottom corner where it drags against door frames, worn at the seams from being grabbed as a handle, and stained where a paper bag has failed inside it.

When to replace it

Any hole in the cloth is a filtration failure, not a cosmetic one, because air escaping through a tear carries whatever the paper bag has already let past. Check the seams and the bottom corners, which is where wear concentrates. A zip or closure that no longer holds shut is the same problem by another route — it lets the paper bag shift on its mount and the collar seal open.

If you are replacing the outer bag because a paper bag burst inside it, take the opportunity to look at the bag mount and its gasket, part numbers D431-4300 and B211-4414B. A bag that splits under load is often a bag that was not seated squarely in the first place.
