The Duct Cover Assembly (part# D051-0400) closes the duct run on the Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 (115V) and 97131 (230V), and on the Powr-Flite PF62EC.
It is one wall of the passage that carries debris from the nozzle towards the bag, and because it is a cover it is also the service access to that passage. Every blockage that has to be cleared on this machine is cleared through here, which means the cover and its seal are disturbed far more often than most parts and wear accordingly.

Seal it or lose suction
A duct cover that is not sealing is a hole in the middle of the airflow path, and air will take that hole in preference to the nozzle. The usual causes are a warped cover, a missing fastener, or a cover refitted in a hurry after a blockage was cleared. If a machine has lost suction shortly after someone cleared a jam, this is the first thing to check — the fault and the repair happened in the same place.
Inspect the sealing face for flatness, check every fastener is present, and look for cracks around the fixing points where repeated removal has fatigued the moulding.
Twin City Vacuum has been selling and servicing Tornado equipment since 1956. Call 763-535-0770 with your model and serial number and we will confirm the part before you order.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which machines does this duct cover fit?
The Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 and 97131, and the Powr-Flite PF62EC.
We cleared a blockage and now the machine will not pick up. Why?
Start with this cover. It is the access point for clearing the duct, so it is the thing most likely to have been left unsealed or short of a fastener.
Does it need a gasket?
It needs to seat flat on a clean, undamaged face. Check the face for warping and for cracks around the fixing points – a cover that will not sit flat is an air leak in the middle of the duct.
