Hose Inlet Assembly Kit 39253

This is the hose inlet assembly kit for the Tornado TV 2 SS dry canister and the Simplicity Brio. It is the fitting in the front of the tank that the hose plugs into, and one Tacony part number covers both machines.

What the Hose Inlet Assembly Kit Does

Everything the machine picks up travels through this inlet, and everything the machine sucks has to be sealed at it. A worn inlet lets the hose rock in place or fall out under its own weight, and it lets air in around the hose cuff — which, like any leak upstream of the bag, comes straight off the suction at the nozzle.

It is mounted in the front face of the tank assembly, shown on the TV 2 SS main assembly diagram next to the handle and the tank.

When to Replace It

Replace the inlet when the hose no longer locks in securely, when the sealing face is cracked or distorted, or when you can feel air being drawn in around the hose cuff with the machine running. A hose that keeps falling out is the usual complaint and it is worth fixing rather than living with.

Fitting Notes

Check the hose cuff at the same time — if the cuff is worn, a new inlet will not cure a loose fit on its own. Make sure the inlet seats fully and squarely in the tank before tightening, and test with the machine running that there is no draw around the joint.

My hose keeps falling out of the machine. Is it the inlet or the hose?

Check both. Look at the inlet for a cracked or worn locking feature, and at the hose cuff for wear or splitting. If the hose locks firmly into a known-good machine, the inlet is the problem; if it is loose in everything, replace the hose.

Does the kit include the hose?

No. The hose with its single-bend handle is part number 90028, ordered separately. This kit is the inlet fitting in the machine that the hose plugs into.
