Insulation Plate 39269

$1.99

Genuine Tacony insulation plate, part number 39269, for the Tornado TV 2 SS dry canister vacuum (Model 93282) and the Simplicity Brio canister vacuum.

This is the insulation plate from the Tornado TV 2 SS dry canister and the Simplicity Brio. It is a rigid plate rather than a pad, and it is a different part from the two insulation pads it works with — Tacony lists all three separately.

What the Insulation Plate Does

Soft insulation only stays where it is put if something holds it there. This plate does that: it backs the lower pad so the airflow through the motor area cannot lift it or fold it over. Without the plate, a pad that shifts can partly block the air path, which costs suction and makes the motor work harder than it should.

Where It Sits on the Machine

It is fitted below the motor alongside the lower insulation pad, shown on the TV 2 SS main assembly diagram between the insulation and the wheel area.

Compatible Models for the Insulation Plate

  • Tornado TV 2 SS Dry Canister Vacuum — Model 93282
  • Simplicity Brio Canister Vacuum

This is one part shared by both machines, so you are ordering the same component whichever you own. Not sure which you have? Call us at 763-535-0770 and we will confirm it.

When to Replace It

Replace the plate if it is bent, cracked or has lost a fixing point. The tell-tale is insulation that will not stay in place, or a rattle from the lower body. It is an inexpensive part and it protects both the insulation and the motor, so there is no case for persevering with a damaged one.

Fitting Notes

Check it against a straightedge before deciding to reuse it. Fit the lower insulation pad first, then the plate over it, and confirm the pad cannot move by hand before the machine is closed up.

Frequently Asked Questions

My insulation keeps coming loose. What is wrong?

Usually the plate. If it has bent or lost a fixing point it can no longer hold the pad against the airflow, and the pad works its way out of position. Check the plate against a straightedge; if it is not flat, replace it along with the pad.

Is the plate the same as the insulation itself?

No. The plate is 39269, a rigid part. The soft pads are 39264 (upper) and 39268 (lower), and they are separate Tacony part numbers. The plate is rarely a wear item; the pads are.
