Insulation, Upper 39264
$1.99
Genuine Tacony upper insulation pad, part number 39264, for the Tornado TV 2 SS dry canister vacuum (Model 93282) and the Simplicity Brio canister vacuum. Fitted above the motor.
This is the upper of the two insulation pads inside the Tornado TV 2 SS dry canister and the Simplicity Brio. Tacony describes both pads simply as “Insulation” and publishes no dimension for either, so we have named them by where they actually sit on the exploded view: this one is fitted above the motor, and part number 39268 is the lower pad below it. They are separate Tacony part numbers with separate UPCs — two genuinely different pieces, not one part listed twice.
What the Insulation, Upper Does
Insulation in a canister vacuum is acoustic, not thermal. A 1200-watt motor running in a hard plastic box is loud, and these machines are used in offices, schools and hotels where that matters. The pads line the chamber so motor noise is absorbed before it reaches the shell, which is the difference between a machine that can be run during business hours and one that cannot.
Where It Sits on the Machine
It is fitted in the upper part of the motor area, above the motor itself and below the control board, shown on the TV 2 SS main assembly diagram.
Compatible Models for the Insulation, Upper
- Tornado TV 2 SS Dry Canister Vacuum — Model 93282
- Simplicity Brio Canister Vacuum
This is one part shared by both machines, so you are ordering the same component whichever you own. Not sure which you have? Call us at 763-535-0770 and we will confirm it.
When to Replace It
Replace a pad that has compressed flat, torn, come unstuck or absorbed water. Insulation does not fail dramatically — it just stops working, and the first sign is usually an operator saying the machine has got louder. If you are replacing one pad it is worth doing both, since they have done the same hours.
Fitting Notes
Note which way round the pad comes out; the two pads are different shapes and only fit their own positions. Make sure the pad sits flat with nothing trapped under it before the cover goes back, and check the machine runs no louder than it did once reassembled.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from the other insulation part?
Tacony lists two insulation pads for this machine and calls both of them simply “Insulation”. This one, 39264, is the upper pad, fitted above the motor. Part number 39268 is the lower pad. They have different part numbers and different UPCs, so they are two distinct parts — order by number and by position.
My canister has got louder. Will new insulation fix it?
It will if the insulation is what failed — compressed, torn or fallen out of place. Check the motor chamber and its seal at the same time, since a crack there lets noise out just as effectively. If the pads and the chamber are sound, the noise is more likely the motor bearings.
