Male Plug A028-0214

$2.99

Genuine OEM male plug (part# A028-0214) for the Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 and 97131, and the Powr-Flite PF62EC. Call 763-535-0770.

The Male Plug (part# A028-0214) is the moulded plug on the end of the power cord for the Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 (115V) and 97131 (230V), and for the Powr-Flite PF62EC.

The plug takes a particular kind of abuse that nothing else on the machine does: it is yanked out of the wall by the cord rather than by the body, dozens of times a day, and it is stepped on. The two failures that follow are a cracked housing that exposes the terminals, and blades that have loosened in the moulding so the plug arcs in the socket. Both are reasons to take the machine out of service the same day, not at the next scheduled visit.

Checking it

Look for browning or pitting on the blades, a housing that flexes when you squeeze it, and any heat discolouration around the entry point. A warm plug after normal use is a fault, not a quirk. If the cord jacket immediately behind the plug is stiff or has started to separate, the damage is in the cord as well and the whole cord, part number A434-0831, is the correct fix rather than a plug alone.

A plug is an electrical part. If you are not confident terminating it, call us — we would rather talk it through than have a machine go back into a building with a doubtful connection.

Twin City Vacuum has been selling and servicing Tornado equipment since 1956. Call 763-535-0770 with your model and serial number and we will confirm the part before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which machines does this plug fit?

The Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 and 97131, and the Powr-Flite PF62EC.

My plug gets warm in use. Is that normal?

No. A warm plug means resistance where there should be none – usually loose blades or pitted contacts – and it gets worse with every use. Take the machine out of service until it is sorted.

Should I replace the whole cord instead?

If the jacket behind the plug is stiff, cracked or separating, yes. The full cord is part number A434-0831. Fitting a new plug to a cord that has already been damaged just moves the fault along a few inches.
