1/4″ Female Tee X2713

The 1/4″ Female Tee (part# X2713) is a genuine OEM brass tee union from the chassis plumbing of the Tornado Marathon SE 900 self-contained carpet extractor. It splits the pressurised solution line three ways, with two female 1/4″ NPT ports and one male.

What the X2713 tee does

Everything downstream of the pump on this machine is built from small threaded fittings, and the tee is the one that turns a single pump outlet into two feeds. Pressure at the spray manifold is only as good as the joints between the pump and the jets, so a tee that weeps or that has partly silted up with scale shows itself as a drop in spray pressure and uneven wetting rather than as an obvious leak on the floor.

When to replace the X2713 tee

Replace it when a thread weeps under pressure after a proper re-seal, when the hex has been rounded, when a port has stripped, or when the body is cracked. Brass fittings work-harden and crack at the root of a thread after enough heat cycles, and a hairline crack can pass a static test and open under pump pressure. If you are already in the plumbing for another repair, renewing a suspect tee is cheap insurance against a second strip-down.
