Right Pivot B016-0400

The Right Pivot (part# B016-0400) is the right-hand hinge between the base and the upright body on the Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 (115V) and 97131 (230V), and on the Powr-Flite PF62EC.

This is the handed partner to the left pivot. Between them they carry the upper body every time the machine is reclined and hold the nozzle square to the floor while the handle moves through its arc. They are among the hardest-working small parts on the machine precisely because they are under load continuously rather than intermittently.

Ordering the right one

Left and right pivots are not interchangeable. This is the right-hand part, B016-0400; the left is B016-0600. If you are working from a machine rather than a diagram, orient yourself from behind the machine as the operator stands, which is how the factory numbers them. Ordering one of each is the usual answer anyway, because they wear at the same rate and replacing one alone leaves the body sitting slightly out of square.

Diagnosing pivot wear

Steady the base with a foot and rock the body side to side. Free hinge movement is correct; any sideways play is not. Worn pivots show up in use as a machine that wanders, that needs correcting on every pass, and that leaves an uneven finish because the nozzle is not sitting flat across its width.
