Tornado Bladder 12 Gallon 19264

The Tornado 12 gallon bladder (part# 19264) is the genuine OEM flexible solution reservoir that sits inside the tank assembly of the Marathon carpet extractors. It holds clean cleaning solution and collapses as the pump draws it down, which is what lets the machine keep the clean and recovered sides separate inside a single tank shell and run as a true self-contained extractor.

One point worth flagging, because it surprises people: although this part is catalogued as the 12 Gallon bladder, the manufacturer’s own parts records list it across the 8-gallon Marathon 800 machines (98166 and 98167) as well as the 12-gallon Marathon 1200 machines (98168 and 98169). If you run an 800 and want to be certain before ordering, call us at 763-535-0770 with your serial number and we will confirm it against the parts book for your machine.

When the Tornado 12 gallon bladder needs replacing

A bladder fails by leaking or by losing its ability to collapse and recover cleanly. The signs are a tank that weeps or shows solution where it should not be, solution level dropping faster than the work accounts for, cross-contamination between the clean and recovery sides, or a bladder that has gone stiff, cracked or brittle along its folds. Because it flexes through its whole working life and spends that life in contact with cleaning chemistry, it is a wear item rather than a permanent fitting.

Life is mostly a function of how it is treated between jobs. Leaving concentrated chemical standing in the bladder overnight or over a weekend attacks the material far faster than the same chemical passing through during a job, so flushing with clean water at the end of the day is the single most effective thing you can do for it. Storing the machine with the bladder sharply folded sets permanent creases that become the cracks it eventually fails along. When fitting a new one, seat it without twists and make sure the tank lid gaskets and the hose bellow are sound at the same time — they are inexpensive, they are already accessible with the tank open, and a tired gasket will have you back inside the machine within weeks.
