Tornado TV 2 SS Power Cord 18/3 40 ft 39260

$47.99

Genuine Tornado power cord, part number 39260, for the Tornado TV 2 SS dry canister vacuum, Model 93282. 18/3 gauge, 40 feet long, 120 volt.

This is the 120-volt power cord for the Tornado TV 2 SS dry canister vacuum, Model 93282 — 18/3 gauge and 40 feet long. The length matters as much as the gauge: 40 feet is what lets an operator cover a large floor area from one outlet, which is the whole working method with a commercial canister.

What the Power Cord 18/3 40 ft Does

18/3 means three conductors at 18 AWG — live, neutral and a safety earth. The earth conductor is the one that makes the difference if a fault ever puts mains voltage onto something the operator can touch, which is why a damaged cord on a machine like this is not something to run on or tape up.

Where It Sits on the Machine

It enters the lower body of the canister near the control board and winds onto the cord holder for storage, shown on the TV 2 SS main assembly diagram.

When to Replace It

Replace the cord at the first sign of damage: a nick or cut in the outer jacket, any exposed conductor, a cracked or loose plug, discolouration or heat damage at the plug or at the strain relief, or intermittent running when the cord is flexed. Damage concentrates where the cord enters the machine and just behind the plug, so inspect both closely.

Fitting Notes

Check the cord holder while you are fitting a new cord — if it is broken, the new cord will be dragged and damaged exactly as the last one was. Make sure the strain relief is seated properly at the machine end: it is what stops the conductors taking the pull instead of the jacket.

Frequently Asked Questions

My machine cuts out when I move the cord. Is the cord the problem?

Almost certainly. Intermittent running as the cord is flexed means a conductor is broken inside the jacket, usually near the plug or at the strain relief. That is a replacement, not a repair — the damage is inside the insulation where you cannot see it.

Can I tape a nick in the outer jacket?

No. This is a mains cord with an earth conductor on a machine dragged around wet and dirty floors. Once the jacket is broken the cord is compromised and should be replaced. It is not an expensive part against the risk.
