Find genuine Tornado 98220 vac/pressure hose replacement parts for the PS Series professional spotter, Model 98220. This is the hose set that connects the machine to the tool: the one-inch recovery hose that carries everything the spotter picks up back to the tank, the solution hose assembly that feeds the tool under pressure, and the utility tool itself.

Two conventions in Tornado’s own table are worth knowing before you order. Rows marked * share a callout with the row above them — the factory groups alternatives and sub-components under one number rather than giving each its own. Under callout 1 that means a choice: 30735 is the steel-supported hose and 19529 is the plain-wall hose of the same one-inch bore and 96-inch length, and the steel helix is what stops a vacuum hose collapsing where it is bent or stood on, so check which one your machine came with. Under callout 2 the grouped rows are the parts that go with the solution hose assembly, including the 8-foot combination hose 95560 that Tornado lists as required in order to use the optional tools.

The row marked † is callout 4, the 15-inch wire tie, which the factory table marks Not Shown — it is on the parts list but has no bubble anywhere on the drawing, so it carries no dot. The utility tool at callout 3 takes jet 31400, which is listed in the accessories section rather than here.

Tornado 98220 Vac/Pressure Hose Parts – Frequently Asked Questions

Should I order the steel-supported hose or the plain one?

Match what your machine came with, or choose the supported version deliberately if yours has been collapsing. Both are one-inch bore and 96 inches long with cuffs; 30735 has a steel helix wound into the wall and 19529 does not. The helix stops the hose flattening under suction where it is bent or stood on. Call us at 763-535-0770 with your serial number and we will confirm which the factory fitted.

My spotter sounds normal but will not pick up water. What should I check?

Look at the recovery hose before anything else. A split or porous vacuum hose leaks air inwards rather than water outwards, so there is nothing to see on the floor — the machine simply draws its air through the split instead of through the tool. Block the tool briefly and check whether the vacuum holds. Then check both cuffs are fully seated, and the intake screen in the tank.

Do I need the 8-foot vac/pressure hose for the optional tools?

Yes. Tornado lists 95560 as required in order to use the optional tools, because the drag wand, crevice tool, stair tool and upholstery tool are used at a working distance the standard hose does not reach. If you have bought one of those tools and cannot get it to the work, this hose is the missing piece rather than an upgrade.

Why is the wire tie on the list but not on the diagram?

Because Tornado’s table marks it Not Shown. It is a genuine part of the assembly with a quantity of four, but the factory chose not to call it out on the drawing, so there is no bubble for it and it will carry no dot on the diagram above.
