Tornado CVD 38/2 Parts — Model 91440

Tornado CVD 38/2 parts diagrams

Five factory sheets cover the machine. Three of them — back part, front part and top part — are the same sheets used by the 19-inch CVD 48/2, because the two machines share a body. The brush head and accessories sheets are specific to the 15-inch cleaning path and are linked here in their 15-inch form. Click a diagram to open its parts page, then click a numbered dot to go straight to that part.

What a 15-inch Tornado fleet should keep on the shelf

The 38/2 has the most widely shared wear parts in the Tornado upright range. Its anti-static roller brush, soft brush roll and bumper are the same items Tornado fits to the CV 38, the single-motor CVD 38 and the CV 38/2 — four machines off one part number. A building that runs a mix of single- and dual-motor 15-inch Tornados can stock one brush roll and one bumper and cover the lot. The 19-inch machine does not work that way; its brush-head parts fit two machines only.

Going the other direction, the parts that make this a dual-motor machine — the circuit board and the motor bearing set — are common to all four HEPA dual-motor uprights Tornado builds, so a 38/2 and a 48/2 in the same fleet draw on the same numbers for those.

Finding the right Tornado CVD 38/2 part

Start from the diagram, not from a description. Find the item on the exploded view, read its callout number, then click the dot beside it — the part page opens with the Tornado part number, the price and what else it fits. If the part you want is on the brush head or the accessories sheet, make sure you are on the 15-inch page: the 19-inch equivalents look almost identical on screen and are the single most common mis-order on this platform.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the model number of the Tornado CVD 38/2?

model number 91440. It is the 15-inch dual-motor HEPA upright in Tornado’s Deluxe CVD series. Quote 91440 when you call, because Tornado also builds a single-motor CVD 38 (91438) on a similar-looking chassis, and the two machines do not share their motor or control board.

Will CVD 48/2 parts fit my CVD 38/2?

The body parts will. The back part, front part and top part sheets are identical on both machines — same diagram, same part numbers — so anything from those three sections fits either one. The brush head and accessories are where they differ: the 38/2 is a 15-inch path and the 48/2 is 19 inches, so roller brushes, bumper, bottom housing and pinion are not interchangeable.

Which roller brush does the 15-inch machine take?

The rollers listed on the Brush Head — 15″ sheet. Tornado fits the same 15-inch rollers to four machines: the CVD 38/2, the single-motor CVD 38, the CV 38 and the CV 38/2. If you run a mixed 15-inch fleet, one roller brush part number covers all of them.

Is the CVD 38/2 the same machine as the CVD 38?

No. The CVD 38 (91438) is a single-motor upright; the CVD 38/2 (91440) carries two motors — one for suction, one driving the brush roll — with a sealed three-stage HEPA system. They share the 15-inch cleaning path and a number of wear parts, but the motor, circuit board and bearing set are dual-motor items and are not the same.

Do you ship Tornado CVD 38/2 parts?

Yes. Twin City Vacuum in Crystal, Minneapolis is an authorized Tornado dealer and ships genuine Tornado parts to all 50 states, free on orders over $30. If you cannot find the callout you need on the diagrams, call us at 763-535-0770 with your model number and the part number from the sheet.
