The 48/2’s brush-head parts fit two machines and no others: this machine and the CV 48/2 (91419) it replaced. Everything else in Tornado’s upright range is 15 inches or narrower, so the catalogue is full of near-identical rollers, bumpers and housings that will not fit. They sit next to each other in the parts list, they photograph the same, and the part numbers differ by a digit or two. If you are ordering a roller brush, a bumper, a bottom housing or a pinion, take the number off the 19-inch sheet rather than from a photograph or a previous order for a different machine.
What the 48/2 shares with the 15-inch machine
Under the brush head the two are one machine. The back, front and top sheets are the same diagram with the same part list, and the circuit board and the motor bearing set are common to all four of Tornado’s dual-motor HEPA uprights. For a building running both widths that means one set of body spares on the shelf and two sets of brush-head spares — which is the cheapest way to hold stock for a mixed fleet, and the reason the shared sheets on this page are the same pages the 38/2 links to.

What is the model number of the Tornado CVD 48/2?
model number 91442. It is the 19-inch dual-motor HEPA upright — the widest cleaning path Tornado builds in the Deluxe CVD range. Give us 91442 rather than “the big CVD”, because the 15-inch CVD 38/2 (91440) is built on the same body and a lot of its parts look the same in a photograph.
Can I fit a 15-inch roller brush to a CVD 48/2?
No. The brush roll, bumper, bottom housing and pinion are cut to the width of the cleaning path, and the 15-inch versions will not seat in a 19-inch head. They are the most commonly mis-ordered parts on this platform precisely because they photograph almost identically. Order them from the 19-inch brush head sheet, not the 15-inch one.
Which CVD 48/2 parts are the same as the CVD 38/2?
Everything on the back part, front part and top part sheets — Tornado publishes one diagram for each of those three and both machines use it. That covers the suction motor and housing, the filter chamber, the switch and wiring, the handle mounting and the wheels. Only the brush head and the accessories differ.
Is the CVD 48/2 the same as the CV 48/2?
They are close relatives, not the same machine. The CV 48/2 (91419) is the older 19-inch HEPA upright that the CVD 48/2 replaced, and most of the 19-inch brush-head parts carry across — Tornado lists the same black roller brush and bottom housing against both. We do not stock a parts section for the 91419 yet; call us with the number and we will look the part up against it.
